Emerance is an 18 year old teen mother from the village of Ntarama. She grew up with five siblings in a family that faced many challenges. Her life took a difficult turn when she became pregnant after being taken advantage of by their houseboy. Instead of receiving support, she was rejected by her family. School became an unreachable dream, and each day was a struggle for survival. Everything began to change when she was introduced to Xtra Mile Vocational Training center through ATN Rwanda. Through your generous support, she enrolled in the welding program. For the first time, she received meals, studied in a safe and supportive environment, and joined a community that believed in her potential. At the Center, Emerance not only gained technical skills but she also encountered spiritual transformation through daily Bible studies. This journey of faith led her to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and eventually, to her baptism; a milestone that gave her renewed strength and purpose. Now, she is awaiting graduation and looks toward the future with hope and determination.
She dreams of using her welding skills to earn a stable living, support her daughter and siblings, and save enough to purchase her own tools to start a small business. Emerance is no longer just surviving. She is embracing a future filled with dignity, faith, and purpose.
