Espérance’s Testimony

Merry Christmas to our friends and partners! ATN Community Development is very grateful to the work God is doing with those who are adopting FGW/SCA principles. These are techniques we use to reach communities of poor farmers. They combine techniques and Biblical principles from selected verses that help farmers to come out of poverty in order to reach the promised abundant full life in Jesus Christ.

In this picture, a field day happened last week. During the field day called “come and see” we invited farmers to come and see the change from their neighbors who have implemented the FGW principles. We also invited them to future trainings. These trainings offer farming and discipleship tools that equip farmers to embrace and experience the full Kingdom of God.

The woman picture above is named Espérance (which means hope in French). She gave her testimony of how she used to invest 35,000 RWF (around $35) to plant 20 kilos of a mixture of beans and corn which only produced 20,000 RWF in income (around $20). This was a significant loss.

After she began using FGW/SCA principles and joining God’s Love Groups (GLG) they worked together and helped her to plant her field of maize and she invested 60,000 RWF (around $60) which if she is patient may bring her 250,000 RWF (around $250) which is around 190,000 RWF of profit. Espérance said Christmas is joyful today because her life changed when she accepted to serve God!
