To continue in our current path with our vision and mission at ATN, there are two areas we would like to focus on developing in order to be more effective and sustainable. These two areas include a Dormitory for ATN-Rwanda’s Vocational Technical School and a Kigali Facility for Peace House Ministries.
Dormitory for Technical School Students at ATN-Rwanda
One problem we are facing in our trade school is housing. The students who have been studying have been forced to individually seek local housing options. This is neither ideal for them nor ideal for us as we lose influence when children live off site; We believe the reconciliation work and ministry that the technical school is doing will be enhanced by living side by side, sharing meals and doing life together. As well a large portion of the market that is able to pay for school fees also requires on-site housing. Last year we lost a bid for 40 students sponsored by World Vision because of our lack of housing options. We would like to build a low cost dormitory to house students who in return will pay to stay there. This dormitory will make it possible for more paying students to train and study at ATN, thus growing our sphere of influence as well as allowing the school to become self-sustainable through money paid in tuition and housing.
Estimated cost is $36,800
Peace House Facility in Kigali
ATN-Rwanda is developing ten acres of land 19 kilometers south of Kigali, the main capital of Rwanda. of town. It also rents an office in the city of Kigali where Peace House Ministries operates. We pay $500 each month to rent a facility that is not ideal for our work. It is our hope to buy land and build a permanent ministries and office center in the heart of Kigali. This will give us a presence in the capital. It will be used by Peace House for it’s ministry to women coming out of sex trafficking and children coming off the streets; it will house a show room for our Kingdom businesses (Xtra Mile Company with the trade school, and Ndabona from the Peace House girls program) to access the Kigali market, and act as a hub for trainings for our network of disciple makers.
Estimated cost for land is $20,000
Estimated cost of office is $56,670
