“From ashes to beauty.” Today, Peace house is celebrating the weddings of two former girls!! Each girl has a different story but both of them share some similarities: extremely poverty, family brokenness, rejection, despite their struggle, they chose to follow Jesus and making good decisions.
Laurence is pictured joined Peace House in 2015 eight years ago. She is an orphan. Her father died in 2008 and she lost her mom in 2010. Laurence’s mom was crippled and used to beg downtown at Rubangura’s that where she met with her dad who was a street guy. They gave birth to five kids. When both parents died, the kids were raised by the community, the poor women who love God and knew Mama Laurence. It wasn’t easy for five siblings living in three different families! Laurence is the first born from her family, she and her little brother were raised in one family. Her other three siblings struggled in their adoptive families and ended up on street. Laurence had always dreamed to have her own family but some young men who were dating her rejected her because her background story of poverty and lack of family. We are thankful to God that Peace House and other community of believers have been supportive to her on this difficult journey. We praise God that she found a faithful Christian guy who accepted her.
