Learning to Love My Children

Praising God for the new brothers and sister in God’s family. This morning we witnessed three baptisms.

Hamisi comes from M*sl*m background. He joined Peace house through his son. He just used to attend parents meeting. Three years ago, he started feeling the hunger to get to know God and His love, he demonstrated in His son Jesus Christ.

The first time, he heard Julienne (who is in charge of families empowerment) teaching the parents to love their kids. She mentioned how some parents don’t love their kids because of their past. But there is a God who is a redeemer and a healer. He is a loving God. Hamisi arrived home and cried in front of his wife how he didn’t love his children and his wife. He repented for being irresponsible. He told his wife that he would like to learn more about that loving God and His son Jesus. He couldn’t miss any prayer meeting every Monday evening. Hamisi started behaving differently, loving his wife and kids. A couple of week ago, he said that he is proud to be called a Christian and told us that he wants to be baptized.

The boy and girl in the picture were baptized too. The boy is sponsored by Peace house in our Education Assistance/Send them back to school program. Their mom was baptized in Peace house years ago. She started teaching her kids the word of God and praying with them. They gave their lives to Jesus and wanted to be baptized in their “mom’s church.” Praising God that the Kingdom of God continues to spread through ATN and Rwanda.
