Agnes MUKARUBOGO is 72 years olds. She spent 28 years in jail having been accused of crimes of genocide against the Tutsi of Rwanda in 1994. She returned to her community with fear of how people would react to her after her long life in prison. She didn’t know how others in her community saw her.
ATN-Rwanda, in its program of Community Development, serves vulnerable farmers who are suffering in their hearts due to poverty. Using the tools of Farming God’s Way we have a strategy of creating community of Discipleship GLGs (God’s Love Groups). Venuste, who works in southern Rwanda for ATN-Rwanda, worked hand in hand with other local FGW leaders to welcome Agnes MUKARUBOGO and integrate her into their farming group.
She started to feel much love and she also started practicing FGW to get food for her and family. She thanks God for the very great welcome she has seen, Reconciliation not only in social life but also in spiritual aspect where the group worships, prays and visits each other.
This working together changed her perspective on the community. She said, “I am now relaxed, I didn’t think I will have friends again but now I see God still loves.” So, Agnes started to shared more testimonies and many are getting healed.
All glory goes to God for using ATN-Rwanda to spread the message of Obedient Disciples reaching to Karama (in southern Rwanda). This is the Impact that all friends partners of ATN-Rwanda are contributing to see and hear. God bless you.
