Dry Bones Coming to Life

This week has been full of highs and lows. I felt hurt to see two girls coming to Peace House office as their home after being rejected by their moms.

The first girl is 18 years old. Her mom, who is a prostitute, told her that she was old enough to live by herself or become a prostitute like her. (The girl is currently in our sewing program.)

The second girl who came here is our former Peace House graduate who was born from a mother and a son. Her grandmother and a mom refused to stay with her because of shame and moved to a different location.

I am thankful to God that Peace House community showed love to these two girls and helped them find shelters. They will never walk this journey alone as long as there are people of God/disciples of Jesus who choose to live unselfish lives, sharing the little they have with others.

There are also many things to be thankful for. We recently celebrated the marriage of Florence and Adrian. Florence is a former Peace House girl who joined our program in 2015. She was a hopeless single young mom who had a desire to look to Jesus. She was also eager to learn. She graduated and became a professional Rwandan tailor. She met Adrian at her local church who is a local electrician. Adrian loves Jesus and I hope that Florence and Adrian will have a good family that raises up a generation of kids who fear and obey God.

Claude and Claudine’s wedding is also a big celebration for Peace House community. Claude joined Peace house boys program in 2014. He used to be on street but was sent back to school. He graduated from High School in 2019. He is now 30 years old. Claud never had a chance to meet his dad and his mom died when he was 17. Claude is now involved in his church where he is a youth leader. He and his wife came to visit us at Peace House. There is great hope for a generation to come.

What we are seeing is like dried bones (Ezekiel 37:1-14). God is giving them life again. God bless each and every one who accepts to be used by Him in one way or another to bring life to His people.
