Recently, the District leaders approached ATN-Rwanda about helping a couple widows whose homes were in disrepair and at risk of falling. Instead of just contributing money, Xtra Mile took on the full responsibility of rehabilitating their homes.
Xtra Mile was originally started as a ministry to orphaned victims of the ’94 genocide. Long ago Xtra Mile would split up into small groups and go do service projects and share a message of hope with others who were in similar circumstances. The groups that went on these trips were dubbed “mobile families.” Today, the term “mobile family” has been revived as Xtra Mile is revitalizing its mission and call.
