This is Dative. Dative has been a part of the Peace House community since 2016. Peace House is one of the ministries of Africa Transformation Network – Rwanda (ATN-Rwanda), and it is committed to improving the lives of vulnerable women and street children in Rwanda. Peace House has a passion to see those whose lives have been influenced by the ‘street’ experience holistic healing in and through God’s Kingdom.
Dative is a model of what ATN-Rwanda and Peace House dream to see. After completing the year long sewing program, Dative went on to make products for ATN-Rwanda’s social enterprise. She also committed to going weekly to another transition home for under-aged girls escaping sexual abuse. The past two years she has faithfully studied the Bible and counseled these girls. She has shared that it has been traumatic and overwhelming at times, but you would be amazed at how both Dative’s and the girl’s faces light up upon her arrival.
Over this past year 17 girls made the decision to put on Christ in baptism. These girls love Dative and we at ATN-Rwanda are so thankful for her as well. We have been convicted that the real agents of change in the Kingdom are not the loud and powerful, but rather those like Dative who are gently tenacious in the way they both believe and live out the gospel.
Below is a picture of Dative with the girls who were recently baptized.
